Any technical tips for budding photographers?
I try to bring my camera wherever I can. I am not a technical person at all. I just bring my camera around and take photos.
Did you want to pursue photography further?
I really did want to be a photojournalist at one point in time. One thing I think about med school is that once you get in, your entire worldview is just narrowed. Both medicine and journalism aims to better the world but medicine offered the tangible and personal touch one can make that journalism cant.
On the subject of books…
I like “Love, or Something Like Love” by O Thiam Chin. It’s a collection of short stories. If it’s in the medical context, it would be “When Breath Becomes Air”. It’s so beautifully written.
Fun fact: I'm the first person in my family to attend med school.
