Can you give us a brief idea of what your play is about?
Our play is actually a murder mystery. It features many eccentric and intriguing characters with their own backstory and personality so throughout the play you get to see how these personalities clash and how it leads up to the death of one of the central characters.

What are you aiming to achieve for playhouse this year?
Arvindh: Not hit over 45 mins.
Beth: I want to surprise people, I want people to be surprised at what the M1s can pull off despite the lack of time and budget. I want to surprise our seniors and the audience with what we were able to achieve despite our lack of resources! I think we managed to pull everything off pretty well, overall, in terms of the story itself, and our props, costumes and staging. I want people to walk away thinking, “wow, I didn’t expect that kind of quality from them”.

Is there anything you regret or something you would do differently now that you’ve experienced organising your first playhouse performance?
I think the main thing would be to be more aware of our limitations. The lack of manpower was a real problem that we didn't foresee (we knew a lot of people were away on OCIP but not this many haha) and we didn't take that into account during scriptwriting and allocating manpower. So this came as a pretty rude shock to us. But having gone through all that and now almost at the finish line, I know its possible to work with such limitations. So if were to redo playhouse again, I would just try to be more cognizant of this problem

What is something you enjoy doing outside of studies?
Arvindh: I'm a huge weeb so I love reading manga and anime and to be honest, a lot of my comedic inspiration comes from there. I also like reading comics and gaming quite a bit. Oh and does sleeping count?
Beth: I’m pretty involved in music (and the arts in general)! I sometimes record covers or busk/perform at events with my band, which was why I was personally quite excited to add on a musical element to our play! It might seem a bit strange and incongruent because we’re doing a murder mystery, but it’s still pretty cool, I think.
