What made you want to be part of MedLaw games?
Well I decided to join sports D because I wanted to do things in the medicine faculty which were not really medicine related (like not screening and health care related) since I had already volunteered for quite a number of those kinds of programmes.
What can others expect from coming to MedLaw games?
There is wide range of sports in Medlaw (over 30 sports)!! So there is probably something for everyone to enjoy. On top of that there are a number of new sports like bouldering, Fifa and Overwatch this year so that is quite exciting as well!! Also, do come down for the closing ceremony as some of your fellow friends will be performing!!
Do you enjoy any sports yourself?
I started playing Ultimate Frisbee in JC and I still play it occasionally!! I am recovering from an injury so I haven’t been able to play Ultimate as much as I would like to but I hope that one day I can go back to playing ultimate more frequently!!
What has been the most enjoyable moment of being part of this event?
I would say the process of working together with the others in Sports D is probably the most enjoyable thing 😊 Everyone is really nice and patient!! The seniors are also very kind and good mentors. They are always there when you need the help and support and have helped me out a lot throughout the planning.
Any nuggets of advice for those taking part or coming down to support?
To those taking part, lets do our very best to beat law and establish which faculty is the better faculty MUAHAHAHAHA - I’m just kidding. For many of the participants, they are joining a sport that they have little experience in. I hope they take this as one of the many avenues available to explore these sports. Also, Medlaw is one of the few events where all the Ms come together to play in a single team so do take this opportunity to get to know your seniors in the upper Ms better as these opportunities are rare 😊 Lastly just play your hearts out and have fun on the field!!
