This weekend marks the end of LawMed 2023, which had close to a thousand students from Medicine and Law competing head to head in 21 different sports for the LawMed title! 🏆🏆 Sat (18 March) featured our athletes taking on Law in Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Dodgeball, while on Sun (19 March) our swimmers give their all for the final event of LawMed 2023. Among these 6 events, Medicine emerged as Champions in Badminton, Table Tennis, and Swimming (both M and W) — bringing the final score tally to Med 14-8 Law! 🌟 Congratulations to all the participants who played their hearts out over the past 2 weekends to defend Medicine’s title as LawMed champions! 👑🏅 Finally, NUS MedSoc Sports Directorate would like to thank the following people, without whom the event would not have been possible: ⚖️ NUS Law Club Sports Directorate ⚕️ MedNurse Club Sports Directorate 🫡 MedSig and Law Sports Captains 📸 Photographers and Helpers 💯 NUS Medicine Dean’s Office Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of LawMed 2023 in one way or another! Happy Friday to all friends of MedSoc! 🤩✌🏻 Last weekend, over 600 of our athletes faced off students from the faculty of Law during the annual LawMed games. Apart from the e-sports on Fri, last Sat and Sun (11th and 12th March) saw the return of physical sports in its full glory to LawMed! ⚽️🏀🏈🏐💯 After playing their hearts out in the sun, our athletes did us proud! 🏆🥇Managing to clinch the victory against Law in Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball (M and W), Basketball (W), Tchoukball, and Football (M and W), and holding off Law to a draw in Touch Rugby, this brought the total score to 9-5 towards Medicine! 🔥 To conclude, this weekend will feature the remaining 5 sports as our students take on Law in Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis, Dodgeball, and Swimming! To kickstart LawMed, our students faced off Law in a series of eSports 👾🎮 While Brawl Stars was played on-site in MD1, Mobile Legends, Valorant, and League of Legends were played remotely so our gamers could use their home setup and bring their A-game to the challenge 😫💪🏻 After a long week of lectures and clinicals, our gamers did us proud -- with Brawl Stars and Mobile Legends clinching the victory, and Valorant and League of Legends losing narrowly! 🤩✌🏻 Kudos to our gamers and thank you to all the supporters who came down this weekend! The Research Directorate and the Wong Hock Boon Society hosted the 7th Research Day on the 4th of Feb 2023. In a long awaited return to a physical event, 28 groups presented their excellent research work in the Oral and Poster Presentation Competitions. We were also delighted to have Professor Koh Woon Puay grace the event, as she shared with our budding researchers on “How to find (and keep) the perfect mentor”. It was an engaging event as students discussed their work with our esteemed judges and explored ways to improve their practice. The day ended with a fitting recognition of some of the best mentors that have guided our students, with the presentation of the SMA-CF Outstanding Mentor Awards. Well done to all our participants, and thank you to our judges, mentors and guests for making this event possible. See you next year! 😉

⚖️LawMed🩺 is set to return in its full scale this year, and will be held on the 10th, 11th, and 18th of March! 🔥 Featuring a total of 16 sports, LawMed is a combined effort from the sports directorates of NUS Law Society, Medical Club, and MedSoc.🚀🚀🚀 It is open to all Medicine and Nursing students who are currently studying.
